For instance, standard Thomas Cook package holidays come with 15kgs weight allowance in the hold, but if you opt for the signature option, you’re allowed 20kgs per person. If you’re flying long haul, there’s a 20kg limit. But, if you’re flying long haul USA, it’s 23kg. That extra kg or two can make all the difference – (yes, you should bring that extra pair of shoes). Liquids under 100ml are prohibited in the cabin, as are dangerous objects (knives, razors, screwdrivers etc), and flammables. Large laptops and electrical equipment are permitted but must be screened separately. The same goes for medicine and baby food. Dangerous articles such as gas cylinders, firearms and needles are not permitted in the hold.
