Currently, the only people to have file for county races are incumbents.Here is the current lists of filings:County Commissioner 2nd District – Jim Newell, Wellington, Republican.Register of Deeds – Jessica Anderson, Wellington, Rep.County Clerk – Debra Norris, Wellington, Rep.Sheriff – Darren Chambers, Peck, Rep.Treasurer – Dannetta Cook, Wellington, Rep.There has been no filings for Sumner County Attorney. Also, there have been no filings for township trustee, treasurer and committee persons.Deadline to registerer for county races are June 1 at noon. Filing fee is 1 percent of annual salary, plus a $35 registration fee for the state.Winning candidates will be elected at the Presidential Election in November.
