HeadtoHead With Fellow Arrowsmith Glenn Day

first_imgI know fans, I’ve neglected you recently. Fear not, I’m back and hopefully with a bang! This week sees the start of the premier league darts. It really has been too long until we’ve had some decent arrers on the TV!I shall also be going head to head with fellow office arrowsmith Glenn Day in the tipping stakes. Let battle commence….The first week is always a cagey affair and this year’s line-up is by far the strongest ever! Hopefully I’ll be able to steer you through the minefield and back a fair few winners.Let’s start off with the first game….Well, as you know I’m a huge Andy Hamilton fan. And this week is no different. Throwing first against the “Thorn” I see no other result than a hammer win! He’s such a solid player and if he gets out the blocks he’ll really pile the pressure on Thornton. Thornton is new to this arena and while he had a fantastic 2012 I feel he might just get caught cold by the “Hammer.” The 5/4 on offer about Hamilton looks too good to pass up, so I’ll be recommending him a 5pt win.The second game is tricky. You just don’t know what James Wade will turn up. He got to the world semi-finals with an average of barely 90! He knows this format inside out and faces another newcomer in Newton. I’m going to recommend steering clear of this match but if I had to pick I’d say Wadey. The next two matches for me are draw games. Both Barney and Anderson had disappointing world cups. Neither will want to lose (obviously) so this should go to the wire. Whitlock vs Lewis will be of a similar nature. Lewis is so hot and cold at the moment. You just can’t write him off. This match will be swing but I think will ultimately end in a draw. They’ve saved the absolute best till last this week, in a repeat of the world final; Taylor vs Van Gerwen. With Taylor throwing first you just have to back him @ 11/10. The MVG bandwagon just can’t be sustained and the Powers consistency and metal when it matters will see him through. Full bet! This week’s points recommendations:The “Hammer” @ 5/4 – 5 points winPhil Taylor @ 11/10 – 10 Points winGood luck. I’m off to Australia!P.S the amateur darting career has hit a new height. 160 Checkout!last_img
